Cargo optimism for Air France-KLM

AIR France-KLM has reported a one per cent drop in cargo traffic for May, with capacity up 2.1 per cent. This brings the load factor down 1.9 points to 62.9 per cent.

The carrier said the results prove that demand is stabilising after the upheaval of previous months.

However, the results include Martinair. Excluding it then the figures fell 18 per cent from May 2008 on a 14.1 per cent reduction in capacity which resulted in a three point decline in the load factor to 61.8 per cent.
