Cargolux adds fifth B747-8F to fleet

CARGOLUX Airlines (Luxembourg) has taken delivery of its fifth Boeing 747-8 freighter in a bid to reduce its carbon footprint.
The new aircraft, which is registered as LX-VCF – City of Grevenmacher  – is the first of two scheduled to arrive in 2012, according to a spokesperson.
The company now has a fleet comprising 11 B747-400Fs and five B747-8Fs.
“Cargolux is honoring its long standing commitment to lessening its environmental impact, helped by the double-digit improvement in CO2 emissions and 30 per cent noise reduction provided by the 747-8F,” the spokesperson states.
