Cathay Pacific forecast strong first half of 2010

CATHAY Pacific Airways is predicting a strong recovery in cargo revenues in the first half of this year.

“The trading position has been strong, particularly on the cargo side,” the carrier said in a statement. “This means that, despite higher fuel prices, we expect strong financial results for the first half of 2010 and, if present trends continue, for the second half also.”

However, the Hong Kong-based carrier added that it remains cautious about 2010’s overall results as revenues remain low and fuel high.
