Cathy Pacific staff made to take unpaid leave

CATHAY Pacific’s troubles continue with news that it has asked its 17,000 staff to take up to a month of compulsory unpaid leave over the next year.

The duration will range from one to four weeks depending on seniority and will start in May. Higher paid staff will be asked to take more leave. The company hopes that the move will save it HK$400 million (US$52 million).
