China demands advance cargo manifests

As of 1st January, 2009, China’s customs agency will require a full cargo manifest from all carriers before it enters or leaves the country. The relevant information must be submitted at least four hours prior to landing in, either before take-off or mid-flight, or leaving the country.

No cargo will be allowed entry into or out of China without this clearance.
