Clifford new v-p for Emirates

EMIRATES has made Conrad Clifford (right) its new vice-president for the UK and Ireland. Clifford replaces Vic Sheppard who is stepping down after 13 years at the carrier.

Clifford, who was chief executive officer of Virgin Nigeria for four years, will take up his post in September.

He said: “I join at a time of challenging market conditions in which the strength of Emirates’ brand is a vital asset. Vic has set the bar high for his successor but I am looking forward to the task tremendously.”

Emirates divisional senior vice-president, Richard Vaughan, said: “Conrad has invaluable experience in many of Emirates’ key destinations and is the perfect candidate to oversee the continued growth of our UK operation, which remains our largest market outside of Dubai.
