DHL’s five special freighters

FIVE DHL-owned 767-200PCFs are being converted to special freighter configuration by US-based Airborne Maintenance and Engineering Services (AMES).

AMES has completed heavy maintenance services on the first of the five ahead of schedule. Two additional aircraft are currently undergoing similar heavy maintenance and modifications to be completed in 2011. The fourth and fifth aircraft are scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2012.

Apart from these five aircraft, AMES previously completed heavy maintenance on four DHL-owned 767 freighters. In addition to these, AMES maintains 13 other 767 freighters leased to DHL by Cargo Aircraft Management, a subsidiary of AMES’ parent company Air Transport Services Group.
