Don’t stop airfreight, warns Iran

IRAN has warned that it will retaliate in kind if any more airfreight shipments destined for the country are interfered with.

This follows the news reported by Air Cargo News earlier in the week that European investigators have seized equipment heading from Russia to Iran’s nuclear industry.

Iran’s Majlis [Parliamentary] speaker, Ali Larijani, said: “I am warning the US and certain adventurous countries that in case they plan to inspect the cargo of Iranian ships and planes, they should rest assured that we will do the same.”

This is all part of the latest United Nations sanctions to disrupt the country’s airfreight operations.
