e-freight goes live in Chile

CHILE has implemented e-freight for exports on 9 June at Santiago Arturo Merino Benitez Airport (SCL). So far it is only in the testing stage but the implementation team it is expected to roll it out completely before the end of the year.

LAN Cargo is leading the team in cooperation with the local Customs agency, the aviation authority Junta Aeronáutica Civil and stakeholders across the supply chain, such as DHL Global Forwarding, Schenker and Kuehne and Nagel.

Chile is the 27th country to start using IATA’s e-freight programme, but the first country in Latin America.
