EGSAC president to retire

GLAUCO Martinelli, president of EGSAC, is to retire from his post on 1 May. He will be succeeded by the current vice-president, Ton Smulders (right), who is managing director of EGSAC’s Dutch member, Active Airline Representatives.

Martinelli has been president of EGSAC since 2002, when he took over from founding president Sean McCool.

Martinelli said: “It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with the highly-professional members of EGSAC, and to see the organisation grow to become such a strong force in our business. I am delighted to hand over to Ton Smulders whose experience, professionalism and enthusiasm will certainly enable EGSAC to continue its successful development.”

Smulders said: “Glauco Martinelli has been a strong leader with clear vision, and a good friend and loyal supporter to all our members. We are extremely grateful for the huge contribution he has made to the success of EGSAC. He has created a solid foundation on which we can continue to build and I look forward very much to playing my own part in EGSAC’s future success.”
