First 747-8Fs in customer livery unveiled

BOEING has just revealed the first 747-8 freighter in a customer’s livery. The livery will be on all of the freighters going to Cargolux, which will be the first carrier to receive one of the long-awaited aircraft in the final quarter this year.

“The design stands for continuity and commitment while confirming the fundamental principles that made Cargolux successful. The red, white and blue stripes symbolise the company’s roots in Luxembourg, its hub and home base,” said Ulrich Ogiermann, chief executive officer of Cargolux.

The design also features an additional logo on the belly and a new red tail, which Cargolux says “is a symbol of strength and growth, power and expansion”.

The Luxembourg-based cargo operator has 13 of the 747-8Fs on order.
