JOHN Barrett, former managing director (MD) of UK-based JAS Forwarding, has died following a form of pneumonia at 67 years old.
Barrett co-founded JAS UK in 1984. He held the position of MD until 2005 when Noel Broadbent took over the role. Barrett remained chairman until he retired early last year.
Prior to JAS he was sales director of Dacair Services, a medium-size forwarder based in Bedfont (UK).
“John was very well respected by colleagues and the industry generally. He was renowned for his honesty and integrity throughout his career and made many friends along the way,” Noel Broadbent, JAS UK managing director, says.
