Frankfurt posts second monthly record for cargo

FRANKFURT Airport handled 188,244 metric tons of airfreight in July 2010, registered a new monthly record and a 20.4 per cent year-on-year increase.

Aircraft movements also climbed by 3.9 per cent over July 2009 to 42,028 takeoffs and landings.

Accumulated maximum takeoff weights (MTOWs) rose by about 16,000 metric tons over the previous record month of August 2005 to more than 2.52 million metric tons. MTOWs in July 2010 grew by 5.3 per cent year-on-year.
