Hactl record month for May

HONG Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited released its tonnage throughput for May 2010. Hactl again achieved another record high in the month – the highest daily tonnage throughput which was reached on 13 May 2010, with a total of 10,184 tonnes of air cargo handled on that day, breaking the previous historic high of 10,080 tonnes just recorded on 23 April, 2010. A total of 257,315 tonnes were handled in the month, representing a year-on-year growth of 44.6 per cent. Cumulative tonnage for the first five months of the year was 1,142,875 tonnes, up 40.1 per cent year-on-year.

Export volume for May was 142,052 tonnes, up 56.7 per cent year-on-year. Total export volume for the first five months was 618,698 tonnes, representing a year-on-year growth of 48.2 per cent.

Import volume for May was 65,069 tonnes, up 31.2 per cent against May last year. Aggregate import volume for the first five months of 2010 was 301,361 tonnes, representing a year-on-year growth of 37.4 per cent.

The transhipment volume was 50,194 tonnes in May, indicating a year-on-year growth of 33.0 per cent. Cumulative transhipment tonnage for the first five months was 222,816 tonnes, up 24.4 per cent against the same period last year.
