IJS Global has reported that it has completed the purchase of Global Forwarding West Limited.

Under the transaction, Global Forwarding West will be re-branded as IJS Global Limited from 1 July, 2008 and will offer to its clients an enhanced worldwide capability through the extensive and ever growing IJS Global network.

Global Forwarding was founded in 1991 by Mike Godwin, Steve Sands, Gary Poerschke and John Watts. Each of the key executives and their management team will remain with the new entity and are extremely excited about the opportunity to work within the dynamic IJS Group.

Mike Gillett, chief executive officer, UK & Ireland, IJS Global, said: “This is an exciting time for us at IJS and the inclusion of the Global Forwarding team into the IJS network, is yet another affirmation of our ability to continue to add further quality components to one of the world’s fastest growing freight and logistics companies.”

Sjoerd Van Loon, IJS Global’s chief executive officer, Europe, Middle East & Africa, said: “The acquisition of Global Forwarding West in the UK, greatly strengthens our European operations and adds another dimension to the continued development of the IJS Global brand in this region.”
