Lan Cargo collaborates with RTW

On 1 January 2009, the Chilean freight airline Lan Cargo will begin to work with RTW Air Services in Switzerland, instead of with Airpass AG.

Lan Cargo will take delivery of B777 freighters next April. The equipment will be used to operate transatlantic services instead of B767Fs. The airline will use the aircraft to focus on its core markets: Argentina, Brazil and Chile. It will stop its indirect flights via Miami, Florida and only operate direct services to South America.

Lan Cargo and RTW Air Services are planning to diversify regionally in Switzerland. In line with the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry, Lan Cargo will transport temperature-controlled goods in the 2-8°C range from Europe.
