LAN cargo still high

CHILE’S largest carrier, LAN Airlines, has reported a 55 per cent rise in net income for the third quarter of 2008. LAN saw a 51 per cent increase in cargo income.
Profits rose to US$122.1 million compared to $78.8 million in 2007. Total revenues for the quarter were $1.2 billion, up from $874 million the previous year. a year earlier.
The company said the results took into account the $50 million allocated for any fines that may be given to it due to the ongoing violations of competition rules around the world.
