LAN Cargo’s promising quarter

LAN Cargo is riding an upward trend. During the fourth quarter of 2011 the carrier recorded a 15.8 per cent rise in freight revenue on the back of a 9.8 per cent gain in capacity.

Revenue tonne kilometre also grew by 10 per cent year-over-year thanks to strong import pull to the Latin American market.

“LAN’s operating results [showed its] ability to leverage continued growth opportunities in both cargo and passenger markets, enhancing the company’s leadership position in Latin America,” the company says.
