Lufthansa cargo traffic up in August

LUFTHANSA Cargo moved 17.9 per cent more air cargo in August compared to last year, up to 155,000 metric tons. This was largely thanks to the obvious rebounding of the international freight demand but also to its consolidation with Austrian Airlines’ cargo unit.

Its revenue increased 16.2 per cent, its load factor climbed 2.2 per cent to 68.3 per cent and capacity rose 12.4 per cent.

Lufthansa as a whole carried 18.7 per cent more freight.

SwissWorldCargo’s revenue rose 30 per cent.
