Lufthansa given green light to buy Austrian

Lufthansa looks set to complete its takeover of Austrian Airlines (AUA). ÖIAG, Austria’s state-owned participation company, has agreed to sell its 41.56 per cent of AUA to Lufthansa for EUR 377 million. In return, Lufthansa will be given EUR 500 to help overhaul the struggling carrier.
