LUFTHANSA cargo is celebrating plane-spotting with its own YouTube channel.
The German carrier is not the first to grasp the benefits of technology and online promotion but it is proving the worth of the medium recruiting 14,000 likes on Facebook.
Matthias Eberle, communications director at Lufthansa Cargo, says: “Lufthansa Cargo networks the world with its services just as social media do on the Internet. Portals, like Facebook or YouTube, offer unique opportunities to invite a global public to experience the fascination of our airfreight operations.”

Alongside videos spelling out company strategy, the channel features stories from Lufthansa’s history as well as footage of emergency flights to Fukushima in Japan.
The new YouTube channel will also feature “plane-spotting” films of Lufthansa Cargo aircraft as well as videos produced by pilots and ground staff Eberle concludes.
