Merchant of Death arrested

ONE of the world’s most notorious arms dealers, Viktor Bout, has been arrested in Bangkok on allegations that he supplied Colombian rebels with arms and explosives.
Air Cargo News exclusively uncovered the Russian’s link to the Al-Qaeda terrorist network in a front page story in 2002.
The air cargo criminal has been accused of trafficking weapons to Central and West Africa, since the early 1990s.
United Nations reports say he set up a network of more than 50 aircraft around the world, to trade in illicit diamonds to fund his smuggled arms shipments.
Bout allegedly made his deliveries to Africa, Asia and the ME, using obsolete Soviet-era freighters.
