Mike Malik leaves Aloha Air Cargo

MIKE Malik, president of Aloha Air Cargo, has resigned from the company, citing family reasons for his decision.

“My work was done there,” he said. “We had built a very strong company and it was just time to look for something else. I have to focus on my family a little more.”

The carrier has appointed Eric Van Andel, president of Saltchuk Air Cargo (the owner of Aloha), to act as president until a replacement for Malik can be found.

Aloha Air Cargo became an independent cargo operator after its then parent company – Aloha Airlines – ceased operations in May 2008.
