More changes enforced at DHL Global Forwarding

NEWLY-appointed chief executive officer DHL Global Forwarding, Freight, Hermann Ude, has made a number of other significant changes, following the removal of former president and chief executive officer Chris Fahy, last month.

Tony Widmer, Global Forwarding’s head of air freight, has lost his position and has been replaced by Victor Mok, promoted from senior vice-president DGF Greater China.

Widmer had built a solid reputation as an air freight specialist and it is uncertain at this time whether he will remain at the company.

In further changes, Peter Landsiedel has been appointed as chief operating officer for DGF. Ude stated that: “In order to maintain our industry leading position, the alignment between the Products, BPO [Business Process Outsourcing] as well as the strategy functions has to be improved. The development and execution of consistent product strategies, improved transparency and the ‘new forwarding environment’ are key initiatives that will benefit from this alignment.”

Additionally, Michael Young will take over the role of Head of Sales for DGF.
