WARREN JONES is the new head of Cargo Network Service (CNS), the US subsidiary of IATA.
Jones, a US national, was previously aviation development manager at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and has more than 15 years’ experience in aviation and cargo.
At Atlanta, Warren worked with all segments of the cargo supply chain, from small forwarders to the largest airlines.
He was instrumental in attracting new air cargo business, whilst also improving the facilities and capabilities to handle airfreight at the airport.
At CNS, Warren will be pursuing a wide-ranging programme, says Des Vertannes, IATA’s global head of cargo.
“Raising industry competitiveness, accelerating the transformation to e-commerce and the Cargo 2000 quality framework, and enhancing the security and safety of air cargo – these will all be major priorities,” Vertannes adds.
He will also be developing the value proposition of all CNS and IATA cargo products and services, including training. “It’s a very full agenda and I look forward to working with him.”
The 23rd annual CNS Partnership Conference, which is being held in Phoenix, Arizona on May 5-7, will bring together more than 500 senior air cargo professionals from the USA and around the world.
The conference theme of ‘Building our Future’ will explore what air cargo needs to do to construct an improved and sustainable way forward, says a statement.
