Ninth B747-8F for Cargolux

FREIGHTER airline Cargolux has taken delivery of a ninth B747-8F, which brings the carrier’s combined B747 fleet to 19 units.
The new aircraft carried a full load of 135 tonnes on its delivery flight from Seattle to Luxembourg, via Los Angeles.
With its growing fleet of advanced, next-generation freighters, Cargolux is steadily decreasing its environmental footprint while benefiting from the aircraft’s lower operating costs and improved economics, says a statement.
“Thanks to its new GEnx engines, enhanced aerodynamics and lighter materials, the B747-8 freighter provides double-digit improvements in fuel consumption and carbon emissions – well below ICAO limits,” the statement adds.
“The B747-8F is not just cleaner, but also significantly quieter than its predecessor.”
