Panalpina connects Hong Kong and Huntsville

FORWARDING and logistics group Panalpina has added a direct cargo flight between Huntsville, Alabama (US) and Hong Kong (China).

From 12 May the new weekly flight, a 747-400F operated by Atlas Air, will mark the first direct service flight to Hong Kong out of Huntsville. It will transport temperature-sensitive cargo and pharmaceuticals.

The growth and strengthening of Panalpina’s own controlled airfreight network enables it to provide flexibility as far as capacity, schedules and routings are concerned. This means that Panalpina can adjust the rotations according to market.

A volume increase of six per cent lifted Panalpina’s gross profits – per ton of airfreight cargo – by 24 per cent in the first quarter.
