MARIE Epstein (pictured) has been promoted to the position of regional vice-president sales, Americas by Virgin Atlantic Cargo. Epstein was formerly the airline’s regional sales manager, Americas.

Emirates has appointed Marc Shedden as its new cargo manager for Western Australia, bringing almost 15 years’ experience in the cargo and freight forwarding industries to the role.

DB Schenker has appointed Helgi Ingolfsson as its new UK managing director. Replacing Jochen Muller, who has moved to a position within Schenker Deutschland, Ingolfsson joins Schenker from the group’s Swedish operation.

Damco has hired Henriette Thygesen as chief executive officer (CEO), north Asia region. Thygesen replaces Steffen Schiottz-Christensen, who will remain in the north Asia region as head of airfreight for the recently acquired New Times International Transport Service.

Girma Wake, former CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, is now an advisor on aviation matters to the Ministry of Transport in Rwanda and chairman of the board for Rwand Air. Girma has 42 years of experience in airline management and served with Gulf Air and DHL before returning to Ethiopian Airlines as CEO in 2004.
