MATT Buckley has been promoted to vice-president cargo and charters at Southwest Airlines. Buckley began his career with Southwest Airlines in 1982 as a southwest ramp agent in Midland, Texas.

Air Malta has named Peter Davies as its new chief executive officer. He joined Malta’s national airline following his position as managing director of Air Southwest in the UK. Davies has over 35 years experience in the aviation industry, both in passenger and express cargo operations.

DHL’s Global Forwarding division has appointed Nooruddin Chowdhury, a 20-year veteran of the logistics and shipping industry, as its new country head in Bangladesh. DHL Global Forwarding Bangladesh was formed last year as a joint venture between DHL and its long-standing partner Trade Clippers Cargo.

Paul Breburda has been appointed commercial manager of the ATC Aviation Services Group. Breburda held the positions of product development manager and head of product Asia at ATC Aviation Services Germany. Andreas Möbius, head of department Frankfurt at ATC Aviation Services since 2008, has been promoted to country manager for Germany.

CEVA Logistics has announced the appointment of Paul Huang to lead its growing business in Asia Pacific as the Thailand vice-president of operations for freight management.

Bill Frainey, assistant vice-president of air service development of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, died suddenly while on a business trip to Sydney on 24 March. Before joining DFW in 2001 Frainey worked as an analyst for American Airlines.
