CARGOLUX Italia has appointed Pierandrea Galli as chief executive and accountable manager. Galli has over 23 years’ of experience with previous positions at Alitalia including managing director Americas and senior vice-president cargo. His most recent role was executive vice-president Europe and Middle East at Skylink Aviation.

Joe Phelan has become senior vice-president cargo for the Americas at Swissport International. Phelan has spent 25 years with American Airlines in various capacities, including vice-president for cargo operations and managing director of customer service Europe.

Airlines for America, formerly Air Transport Association, has named Elizabeth Shaver (pictured) as director, cargo services. Shaver will oversee cargo functions and coordinate with the association’s members and US and foreign governments. Shaver was formerly a manger at Delta Air Lines.

Jarmo Halonen has been appointed managing director for Greencarrier Freight Services Finland. Prior to joining Greencarrier from Itella Logistics, he held the position of managing director at the Kauko Group, which was subsequently acquired by Itella in 2008.

Christian Marz has become director of operations at SBS Worldwide. Marz has worked for several freight forwarders since 1989.
