People update March 2011

AIR Cargo News reviews who has moved where in the air cargo industry this March.

All-cargo airline Avient’s managing director and founder Andrew Smith (pictured) will become group chairman with effect from 18 March 2011. Current chief operating officer Simon Clarke will take over as chief executive officer.

Sabrina Reid has taken over direction of sales for Airline Network Services in Portland, Oregon (US). Her area of responsibility will extend beyond Portland to key points in the Pacific northwest.

Lufthansa Cargo has appointed new area managers for Germany and the Europe/Africa region. J. Florian Pfaff, currently Lufthansa Cargo vice-president Europe and Africa, is to assume responsibility as the new vice-president for Germany, effective 1 May. Carsten Wirths, currently head of services and operations Germany West in the passenger business, is to take over as vice-president Europe and Africa.

Swissport International has appointed Nicolas Frochaux as its new vice-president corporate controlling and financial analysis. Frochaux succeeds Dany Nasr who has been promoted to chief financial officer of the Swissport Americas division, based in Washington, D.C.

IT provider IBS Group has appointed Murray Kidd as the vice-president and head of sales for its cargo business.
