PIA moves to seize cargo market share

PAKISTAN International Airlines (PIA) is planning to aggressively seize more airfreight market share. One of its first moves has been to appoint Globe Air Cargo as its exclusive cargo general sales and services agent (GSSA) in the UK.

The agreement was signed by PIA’s managing director Aijaz Haroon and Globe Air Cargo’s managing director Mark Pulling.

Haroon said that the airline’s market share expansion will be achieved: “through multi-pronged strategies and the appointment of Globe Air Cargo in the UK is one such example.”

PIA is also planning to appoint Globe as GSSA for its customers in Hong Kong and Malaysia in the near future. PIA currently operates 24 flights a week to UK from Pakistan using wide-bodied B-777s and A-310s.
