Royal Jordanian Cargo charges ETS tax

ROYAL Jordanian Cargo will follow Etihad in passing the cost of the EU’s Emission Trading Scheme (ETS) tax on to customers.
From 1 March Royal Jordanian Cargo will impose an ETS tax of US$0.05/kg on cargo carried on all its flights into and out of European countries except Switzerland, Russia and Ukraine.
The move comes less than two weeks after fellow Middle Eastern carrier Etihad announced it would increase fuel surcharges on flights to Europe by $0.03/kg to cater for the tax.
Royal Jordanian Cargo has a fleet of two A310Fs.
