JET Airways has appointed Rutges Cargo to provide its road feeder services from Brussels.
The airline currently operates six flights a day to Brussels from India, the USA and Canada and plans to add more daily services in 2008. Under the terms of the agreement, Rutges Cargo will provide trucking to and off-line handling at 100 airports throughout Europe.
It will also provide a business development solution for Jet Airways that will incorporate specialised products for major sectors of the Indian export economy, such as pharmaceutical and fashion.
Jason Breakwell (above), commercial manager of Rutges Cargo, said: “Our bid for this important contract was successful because we provided the combination of a comprehensive network in Europe, local offices, Cargo 2000 standards for data processing, the best combination of products and value and the ability to support Jet Airways’ future growth. We have invested heavily to be able to provide solutions beyond those of the traditional trucking company and this is making Rutges Cargo an attractive, long-term partner for leaders in the air cargo industry.”
