SAS sells UK ground handling operations
10 / 06 / 2010
SAS Group has sold its UK ground-services operations (SGS) to BBA Aviation. The sale was completed by auction, with BBA securing exclusivity. It is the latest in a series of European divestments and outsourcings by the struggling SAS, which is going through a drastic streamlining process to focus on the Nordic market.
Part of that process was the recent selling of 30 per cent of its 49 per cent ownership in Estonian Air.
Estonian Air has an option to buy SAS’ remaining stake and SAS has the option to sell its stake at fair market value after four years.
