Saudia and Southern Air join on ACMI

US-based Southern Air has begun operating one 747 freighter under Saudia Cargo livery on an aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI) basis.

“Southern Air offers the widest selection of wide body freighters with their 747-200s and B777LRF programme and the introduction of the 747-400s will be an important attraction for us,” Fahad Hammad, chief executive officer of Saudi cargo, said.

Saudia Cargo operates a fleet of 12 freighters with belly capacity on 125 passenger aircraft.
