Schenker ‘goes for growth’

DB Schenker has launched a new ‘Go for Growth’ programme to bolster growth in its contract logistics business unit. The core of the four-year program will consist of investments in greatly standardised logistics solutions and industrial processes, in addition to notably expanding the company’s worldwide business activities. The focus of the capital expenditures will be on the automotive, consumer, electronics industries and mid-sized machine makers in defined regions. The main target countries are the USA, Germany and China.“We’re making a clear commitment to our customers to provide them with higher quality customer care and support, stable processes, solutions and technical investments for their logistics projects,” said Dr Detlef Trefzger, member of the management board of Schenker, responsible for contracts logistics. “The aim of the program is to grow the company at a significantly faster pace than the market,” said Dr Trefzger.“We are looking for experts in business and product development, tender management, and on-site customer care and support. We are particularly interested in persons with experience in our target markets,” said Dr Trefzger.
