Schenker upgrades Abu Dhabi business

DB SCHENKER has established a new joint venture with its long-term global network partner Salem Freight International in Abu Dhabi.
Salem has been operating in Abu Dhabi for more than 20 years. Farook AlZeer is extending his existing responsibilities to become managing director of the new entity.
“A major part of the world’s future growth will come from markets in the Middle East and Africa,” states Peter Glatz, regional director, near Middle East/Africa, for Schenker.
“This is why we continue to strengthen our presence in the UAE, a strategic central location at the crossroads of important trading routes between east and west,” he adds.
The German company has plans to further strengthen its network in the region.
