Second A310F for Turkish Airlines
04 / 03 / 2008
TURKISH Airlines took delivery of the second of its three Airbus A310-300Fs at EADS EFW’s facility in Dresden, Germany, to be followed by a third one starting in July 2008.
The airframe was formerly operated by the Turkish airline itself as a passenger aircraft. The conversion into freighter configuration started in early November 2007. Turkish Airlines’ first A310-600 aircraft was the 100th conversion performed by EFW and was delivered in November 2007.
“Turkey is a fast growing air cargo market, and we are glad that our converted freighters help Turkish Cargo to meet the increasing demand. Since the start of the freighter conversion in Dresden 12 years ago, we managed to build a truly worldwide customer base. But of course, it is important to succeed in growing markets such as Turkey, to ensure the future of our Dresden facility,” said Dr Andreas Sperl, president and chief executive officer of EADS EFW.
