Shipping manager overcharges own company
14 / 01 / 2009
A FORMER shipping manager of pharmaceutical company Wyeth Medica Ireland is being charged with overcharging his ow company for shipping its products air freight.
Patrick Walsh along with two former executives and an employee of Elite Logistics, formerly Elite Kamino International Transport, are alleged to have defrauded Wyeth out of €1.3 million between 2001 and 2003.
Wyeth, which brought the charges to the Irish High Court, claims Walsh improperly arranged for Elite to be awarded more of Wyeth’s air freight work than it should have and overcharged for that work by misrepresenting and deliberately inflating the volumetric weight of each cargo consigned to it.
