SIA Cargo’s slide

A SINGAPORE Airlines Cargo freighter skidded off the runway at Changi Airport (Singapore) on 3 December, forcing other aircraft to divert to nearby airports.

The SIA freighter veered off the runway after landing at around 16:40pm. No damage or injuries were reported and the freighter was able to taxi on its own to the parking bay.

The runway was re-opened at about 18:00pm on the same day.

Five Singapore Airlines and SilkAir aircraft opted to land at Singapore’s Paya Lebar Air Base. Other aircraft chose to land in Johor and Kuala Lumpur (both Malaysia).
