SWIFTAIR Hellas, reports that his company, through the mother company Swiftair Spain, has started a regular five times per week service on behalf of DHL.
The cargo, bound for both Thessaloniki and Tirana in Albania, is flown by an eight tonne capacity containerised ATR72. A Swiftair Hellas Metro III aircraft also makes connection to Tirana.
“We were able to demonstrate to the DHL management, that this was a quick and efficient routing for their express traffic,” said Sintakis. “I think that within the Balkan region, airfreight is proving increasingly to offer the best solutions, bearing in mind that roads are often poor and unreliable.
“We continue to seek new similar niche traffic within the region to expand our activities. This ATR 72 aircraft is comparatively cost effective and easy to maintain, giving great flexibility and capacity to accommodate all types of cargo.”
