Swiss launches Shanghai service

ON 9 May, 2008, Swiss has successfully launched a non-stop flight between Zurich and Shanghai; the new daily A340 connection has increased Swiss WorldCargo’s capacity to and from China by 36 tones per day.

“Swiss exports to China increased 35 per cent over the last three years and imports to Switzerland from China increased 16 per cent in 2007. It is therefore a great challenge to position our brand and quality offerings in Shanghai, our second online station within the Greater China area,” said Dieter Vranckx, managing director Asia, Africa and Middle East. “The new flight will enable our customers to take advantage of Swiss WorldCargo’s premium services to ensure high quality delivery of general cargo and special products across our global network.”
