CARGO 2000 has certified the Unisys’ Cargo 2000 Data Management Platform (CDMP) as compliant with its requirements to measure, manage and improve the quality of shipments between airlines and freight forwarders.
Unisys supports the quality management programs of six of Cargo 2000’s airline members; Air Canada, American Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Delta Cargo, Scandinavian Airlines Cargo and United Airlines.
The catalyst for the formation of Cargo 2000 was the findings of a 2995 Unisys study of 2,000 international shipments. Unisys was subsequently commissioned to help develop Cargo 2000’s Master Operating Plan and the Common Data Management Platform concept.
Christopher Shawdon, vice-president logistics solutions at Unisys, said: “Unisys is proud of its work in the formation of Cargo 2000 and development of the Cargo 2000 Data Management Platform (CDMP) for quality processing of shipments between airlines and forwarders. While this certification recognises our work as a CDMP provider for several Cargo 2000 members, it also recognises the way that we and Cargo 2000 members and service providers work together to raise the quality of service across the air logistics chain.”
