Van de Weg quits Cargolux

ROBERT VAN DE WEG, senior vice-president, sales and marketing, at Cargolux, has resigned due to differences with the board of directors regarding the future strategy for the European all-cargo airline.
His decision to leave the carrier comes after an agreement was struck to hand over control of the legendary carrier to Chinese company Henan Civil Aviation and Investment (HNCA). HNCA has purchased a 35 per cent share.
Weg, also a member of the executive committee, has been with Cargolux for 14 years.
Henning zur Hausen, executive committee member and senior vice-president, legal affairs and compliance, will take over Weg’s role on an interim basis. Hausen previously deputised for Weg during 2012.
“The board of directors and the executive management are thankful for Robert’s many contributions to the airline and wish him all the best for the future,” a statement says.
