Vertannes is IATA’s new Global Head of Cargo

Air Cargo News can exclusively reveal that Etihad’s executive vice-president cargo is leaving his current position and taking the role as IATA’s Global Head of Cargo. Based in Geneva, Vertannes will report to the previous IATA head of cargo Aleks Popovich.

Vertannes joined Etihad to lead the airline’s Crystal Cargo division in April 2007 and helped the airline significantly grow its freight in terms of market share and volumes over the past three years.

Vertannes’ replacement as Etihad’s cargo boss is an internal appointment and is believed to be the current vice-president of revenue management, Roy Kinnear.
In an additional appointment, David Kerr, currently managing director European cargo sales for American Airlines, will be joining Etihad Crystal Cargo as commercial director.
