Veteran Brooks leaves American

DAVE Brooks is retiring from American Airlines (AA) Cargo effective 1 July. Brooks has been president of the division for 16 years and with AA for 30.
“Dave has built one of the most successful companies within a company – with some of the best and most loyal customers due in large part to the customer service and relationships [he] and the Cargo team have built throughout the years,” said Bella Goren, AA’s chief financial officer. “He has our deepest gratitude and very best wishes in his retirement.”
Brooks replacement will be Kenji Hashimoto. Hashimoto has been with AA for 14 years, most recently as vice-president strategic alliances.
“Hashimoto is an exceptionally capable leader with broad international expertise,” says Goren. “[He] brings to this role extensive background in business leadership, finance, sales and network performance.”
AA claims that Hashimoto’s appointment reflects the airline’s commitment to recognising cargo’s importance.
