Virgin takes on Australian handler

VIRGIN Atlantic Cargo has appointed Australian air Express (AaE), as their cargo-handling provider in Sydney, from 1 December, 2008.

AaE’s industry reputation, commitment to customer service, IT initiatives and agreed SLA’s, were apparently key drivers in Virgin Atlantic Cargo’s decision for the appointment.

Neil Ferdinando, head of operations Virgin Atlantic Cargo, said: “We are delighted to be working with AaE and look forward to developing the relationship further over the coming months.”

Robert Brown, general manager international for AaE, said: “AaE were pleased to have been selected to handle Virgin Atlantic in Sydney following a competitive tendering process. Aligning the AaE brand and Virgin we believe is a perfect partnership and we look forward to working with Virgin to grow and develop the services available to their customers.”
