Volga-Dnepr gets a nose job

THE world’s second-largest operating cargo aircraft is scheduled for a facelift.

The An-124-100 Volga-Dnepr Ruslan cargo aircraft, from a line that is 30 years old, will enter a US$400 million modernisation programme.

The upgrade programme, which will conclude in 2018, includes design and development work on modernisation of the An-124’s avionics and engines.
