Indian air cargo carrier, Afcom, has added a third 737-800 passenger to freighter (P2F) aircraft as it continues to expand its operations.

The aircraft arrived at Chennai International Airport (MAA), where Afcom is based, on 30 December. The new aircraft will boost Afcom's operational capacity and is expected to support its expanding network across key domestic and regional routes.

Commenting on the new aircraft, Deepak Parasuraman, chairman & managing director of Afcom Holdings, said: “The induction of our third aircraft strengthens our operating platform and enhances our ability to serve customers across expanding trade lanes.

"We remain focused on disciplined growth while building a reliable and scalable cargo network.”

AFCOM's first 737-800P2F was delivered in May 2024, while its second was delivered in August 2024, according to data from Planespotters.

As well as supporting Afcom's network, the growing fleet will help the airline meet rising demand for air cargo services, including time-sensitive and specialised services.

In addition to operating a domestic route connecting to Mumbai (BOM) and Delhi (DEL), the airline operates a route from MAA connecting to Colombo (CMB) and Malé (MLE), and a route from MAA to Bangkok (BKK).

Afcom also added scheduled cargo flights from Bengaluru (BLR) to Malé (MLE) last year, while it further plans to add a flight from MAA to Singapore (SIN).
